TOPIC:
Demonstrating Geosynthetic Technical Specifications for Landfills
COURSE OVERVIEW:
Technical specifications play a critical role in the overall design of cell liners and caps in waste landfills. These design specifications are detailed by consultants, with reference to the mechanical and hydraulic properties of geosynthetics, which form an essential part of the design.
This webinar will explore the various standards specified in landfill design and its suitability with different products and test methodologies, as well as the variables influencing these tests, with reference to recent developments and findings.
SPEAKER:
Anthony is the National Business Development Manager for the waste & containment sector at Geofabrics Australasia, with 32 years of experience working in the landfill and civil engineering field. His role encompasses building and maintaining relationships with major stakeholders in the waste landfill industry, including asset owners, design consultants, contractors, lining installers and supply companies. Anthony is also serving as the current President for the Victorian branch of the Waste Management and Resource Recovery Australia (WMRR).
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
- Gain an understanding of the landfill design standards that are specified and how they are applied to geosynthetic standards
- Exploring the variables influencing the variation in the properties of geosynthetics
- Learning about the standards that geosynthetic manufacturers adopt to carry out quality insurance testing as part of their obligation to provide Manufacturing Quality Assurance (MQA)
