On Capalaba Road, Mt Gravatt a swale drain was overflowed and caused erosion of the embankment due to heavy rainfall. There was a lack of maintenance and durability.
The slope in heavy rain events used to get eroded severely and Transurban the asset owner wanted and needed a resolution that required no ongoing maintenance.
A site meeting was held between Transurban and Geofabrics on-site to establish what products would be most beneficial for this application, and Concrete Canvas was the winner as no ongoing maintenance and 50-year durability.
The installation was completed by Andrew Stafford and his crew from Doval construction with assistance from Lance Simkin, Geofabrics Representative.
