PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Marie Wallace Reserve in Bayswater is a valued community sporting facility that underwent upgrades in February 2026 to improve the performance and usability of its playing field. As the reserve caters to multiple sports, including AFL, soccer and cricket, the project required a drainage system capable of accommodating different playing requirements while supporting year-round field usability.

OUR SOLUTION

An engineered herringbone drainage design using Megaflo Green socked slotted drain pipe was selected to provide effective water management across the field.

More than 5 kilometres of Megaflo Green drain pipe was installed across the field using convenient clip-together fittings, making installation quick and straightforward. Geofabrics provided technical support throughout the project, including guidance on the design and installation of the system.

The drainage system efficiently managed water beneath the playing surface, helping the field recover more quickly following rainfall. This improved drainage performance helped reduce weather-related downtime, increase field playability and support the long-term durability of the playing surface.
